It's been a busy week for the farm - new guinea hens, cow to the butcher (the cow who didn't want to go to market and bent a gate twice in his efforts to not enter the trailer), new garden area and the blue pond. We cleaned out the barn and organized things, cleaned all the junk out of the yard, and created an area for a small pond and water area near the house that we will be working on over the next few weeks. And we expanded the backyard garden area - couldn't get grass to grow there anyway.
We have been enjoying my crop of lettuce, I have never grown it before, it did well, hope I can continue to grow it -sure saves on grocery bill.
Howard purchased a Father's Day gift for himself...12" chop saw! on sale at Lowe's for 199.99...he had been bummed that he didn't get it when it was a special purchase for 250.00 and then they were gone - and then it reappeared and got cheaper.
We have a pond in our back pasture and since it appears to hold water permanently Howard bought some blue water coloring it have a beautiful pond instead of a mud hole. He also took a trip to a co-worker's home and brought home a bunch of large goldfish and blue gill to start stocking the pond. They continue to come after the bread we toss in.
Enjoy the photos...sorry I can't get them in order on the phone.
And enjoy the grainy photos of the 2 deer I scared up this morning on my walk - Howard saw 2 at the pond when he went out even earlier.
Oh, and the weird picture of my shadow with a stick?...you always take a stick for your morning walk in the woods and make a path for yourself through the spider webs on the trails!
